Wow
Wow, it's been just over two weeks since I un-hooked my mac when i was having work done in my flat. It's taken so long because of many things, being lazy and internet went down for a week and having to re drill holes for my shelves.

A Helpful Vid Tip
This helpful nugget of information was done by Steve Sanchez.
A pretty good vid even if Steve himself is not all there. Enjoy.
How to draw a leg prt3

Now thats done lets start, from left to right.
As with the last two parts, we start with the basic leg shape. The leg no matter which side you look at has the slight 'S' shape running through it. I've added the hip box to this as it all joins. The hips themselves point forwards as if they are pointing away from the legs.
Next when blocking in your muscle mass, try and see the bulk of the top part of the leg (butt) coming down into the tendon like a fang towards the knee and just behind it. with the leg muscle that we can see, even tho I did it this way you could indicate it with an elongated oval if you wish. Then a smaller oval for the calf.
And finally you and muscle detail. I've done a simple muscled leg that you can reference, but some real anatomy books would be better. Ok that's the third nut shell on the leg, I really hope this was a help, let me know if it was or wasn't any feed back would be good.
And if it's asked for I can knock up something a bit more advanced, just let me know.
Keep practicing.

How to draw a leg prt2

Ok so trying to do this a couple of weeks ago failed, :( anyway we're here now so lets get going.
We'll start from left to right. First off we get our basic leg shape, in the same way we did the front we keep the same approach, the inside of the thigh will go straight down towards the ankle and the outside will arch towards the knee then the outer ankle.
This next part is harder to explain, but if you look at the direction of all the arrows you get a good idea of the same of the major muscles. From the main bulk of the buttock you'll follow it from underneath to the outer line of your thigh. (depending on the size of your leg will depend on how far you come out before arching back towards the knee).
What I forgot to mention in the last post is that each side of the leg, the muscles are not parallel , the muscles on the inside all drop a little lower than the outer.
If you notice I marked the top of the leg, this is part of the leg which you can feel at your hips, and a good indication where muscles, meet and what not.
Remember that the female figure is leaner than the male, unless your going for a hulking female.
Well thats it really, short and sweet. A very basic look at the back of the leg, I hope this helps in your understanding even a little. To get better go grab some anatomy books, and some workout mags with really pumped up dudes on it. Oh yeah and PRACTICE loads, one sketch a day minimum.
Let me know how you did, and if it helped in any way or didn't help and questions just ask.

How to draw a leg prt1

You start off with your basic leg shape, either a tube or just a stick man line anything. The thing I like to do is think of the outer thigh as two mounds heading towards the ankle, with the inner going straight down. When ever I draw the leg head on I tend to do it that way. And I'll show position of the knee with a circle. (most people do this)
Second you will define the shape of the leg. if you see the arrowed line you can see how I follow the inner thigh like a sort of 'S' shape.
Thirdly you add mass, this is up to you from this point you go as bulky or as lean as you want, tho try and keep it all in proportion.
I've drawn how some of the tendons join from the knee the leg muscles in the front.
Ok so that was a leg in a nut shell, not that hard really. It does help having some anatomy reference. Ill do part 2 next week.
Let me know how you do, and what you think.

I know I know....
Yes it's been a few months since I've uploaded anything. I have been very busy..... Ok thats a lie I've been lazy and putting off doing any work.
Over the next couple of weeks I should be putting something on here for the world to look at and scrutinize and poke fun at.
As things are going I've started work on Arc issue 2, page one is complete and page 2 is nearly done, I even had some time to create a cover, tho it's a little lame but hey it's a web comic.
so till next time.
